Chapter 8

While attempting to write my paper, I was still having trouble picking a definition for my definition argument. The concept of a definition argument still wasn’t clear in my head, and I needed help figuring out what to define. It was awesome to see what we were clearly supposed to do laid out for us in chapter 8. The diagram on page 114 was definitely helpful. I’m more of a visual learner, I suppose you could say, so while reading what we were supposed to do was kinda confusing, the diagram cleared things up for me. I was able to pick something to define within my topic, and write a bunch of cool stuff about it.

Chapter 4

As I was reading through this chapter, I found a few interesting things. I like how they included the checklist for revising drafts, since we can definitely apply the information to our essays. It was also nice to see a section about proofreading too, because thinking back, I know I didn’t look through my two drafts for my first essay nearly close enough before turning them in. I think I definitely should have applied the “eliminate wordiness” suggestion to my last draft. But that’s ok, because I can apply it to the final draft. 🙂
